There is an adapter cb performance sells that puts your tranny at the right angle. I used it on my oval and Brian runs one in his oval. This may be what you need. |

I don't run that one any more, I made my own  That one works though, the problem with it though is that it's solid steel... |

Here's what I made. It's actually a modified urethane mount (made it thinner by about 25% or so, re-shaped it, and added some holes) with a custom steel adapter I made. The reason I made this mount was so that it would have some "give" in it (from the urethane portion), unlike the solid steel one, and allow the tranny mid-mount to carry most of the load. Otherwise I would be breaking nose-cones left and right due to the power I'm making.

Damn POS  This thing is whack!! When the car is not running it shifts just fine. When you start the car you can't get it into gear.. Can't even get it to grind the gears.. If you start the car in gear with clutch in, it wants to move like the clutch isn't fully engaged.. We tightened the cable but didn't seem to help at all.. If it was a clutch thing, wouldn't you be able to grind the gears?? We're gonna tackle it again tomorrow..

Qoute from Bill May on Samba when he was helping with my issue when a splitcas trans is replaced with a tunnel case it is done using a bus nosecone and hockey stick. a bus has its coupler on bottom of hockey stick instead of on top like a beetle-i am talking about the detent for the coupler set screw. if it is not drilled in correct location it will twist coupler out of alignment and cause exact problem you are having. i think the detent is not in correct spot as it should be drilled to adapt the hockey stick(bus) to the coupler(beetle and bus) and shift rod is twisted out of alignment.--- fix=?? replace hockey stick or redrill yours in correct spot. 180 degrees from original bus location. I sure wish I would have read this earlier. We spent most of today F'n with this and now reading what you've wrote sounds like this is what I'm going to find. I'll be over there again tomorrow to work on it again. Now, at least I know where to start. Man, THANK YOU a lot for sharing your pain with me. I'll be sure to post right away when we look at it.
