I'll drive mine just about anywhere. Since April of last year, I've gone almost 10,000 miles in it. 8-)

The longest roadtrip so far has been 1775 miles. If I can get a passenger, I plan to do the full Eureka round trip next year.

I'm looking forward to being in the 100 mph/10,000 mile bus pilots club!

awesome  ! I'd like to do the Eureka drive also. I have about 25k miles in 3 years on the bug.

That's cool -- 25k is a bunch of miles in 3 years -- let's keep it up!

I'm dead serious about Eureka. If you want to talk about a convoy, I'm game. My trusty co-pilot Carl has an annual Labor Day event, so as long as Eureka is the last weekend in August, he's out. I either need a co-pilot or at least one other car to go along. I don't like roadtripping alone. I've heard these VW's are prone to acting up every now and then :)

The last couple of years I've towed it to OkC and then roadtripped to Eureka with the Oklahoma crowd. That's still a 600 mile round trip, but I'd like to do the whole enchilada. I may not want to do it twice (in August), but I'm sure I'm stupid enough to do it once!

aside from spending lots of money on the rest of the parts for the type 4 motor swap, I dropped off the crank/flywheel/fan to get balanced.

I told my wife as long as I am alive she would never be able to park in the garage.

Hmm I did notice just after that that she upped my life insurance. Should I be worried?? :?
