Haha...clown college build! You're gonna do fine, Eric. Engine assembly is nothing to fear.. It's not hard; only a little tedious. Be patient, get a manual or some advice on the critical steps, torques, and other specs (aka tommiebsmith), pay attention, keep things really clean, double-check everything, and stop and ask if you're not sure. You got this! Scotty |

Good for you, you can do it, it's very much a series of steps that you do in a more-or-less particular order. Read as much as you can, there's plenty of info out there. My biggest fear these days is the quality (or lack thereof) of bearings available. This is why I blueprint every single bearing when I build an engine, even the cam bearings. I've seen brand new bearings that are out of spec... and usually on the too-tight side of things, which is waaaay worst than them being a bit loose. Tight bearings lock up motors. Anyway, if you have access to the equipment (bore gauges and micrometers), I *highly* recommend blueprinting all your bearings. I have a thread HERE that shows how I do things. Good luck, let me know if there's anything I can do to help. |

Day 1. Cleaning, mop mop all day long, mop mop mop while I sing this song. So first rookie mistake was Brothers offered to sand blast the case, I said sure. Then later read don't ever do that. Ugh. They plugged the oils lines prior and really didn't hit much of inside. I asked them not to locktite the plugs. So I got the rifle cleaning kit out and cleaned it good. Then ran a full bottle of carb cleaner thru it. Then ran the hose thru it for a long time. Neighbors love me. I might actually shower with it tomorrow. Probability of grenade 98.2%

I now have a good understanding of how oils flows thru the case and how the system works

Tall boys have more displacement than a bus motor?
