Post subject: Chris P's '58 Ragtop
PostPosted: Thu Feb 19, 2009 11:25 pm
Some time ago, I met an older couple that had stopped by, seeing me working on my '67 Ghia. After spending some time talking to them, telling me about their '65 Beetle, they also told me about a '60 Beetle ragtop they had that was in need of restoration. At that time, (about a year ago) I mentioned that if they were to ever want to let go of it, at least give me first chance at it. Well time has gone by and the '60 came up over casual conversation which prompted going out and looking at it. Ryan, James, and I went out to look at it last weekend. After looking at it and discussing it with the guys and the wife, I am the owner. I was given the signed title tonight. We will be going out and dragging it home this weekend.

Here are some items I was given in boxes, tonight...

Not sure if the next two items are the correct pieces.

Not sure of the interior dash color here. I thought the enterior was painted the same as the exterior...

I hope i have those quirky parts as well; i already have a weird one in the stall ('67 Ghia) After doing some reading, I have seen some dealer installed fuel gauges, but I believe they were the small round type. There are a couple of more boxes of parts that are in the car that I will get tomorrow. If the rag is not correct, then whomever grafted it in, did one hell of a job! I think I might just leave it...
