Thanks guys. It should be fun, but it will take forever to work on. I will take more pics when I get it. I am not even sure if it is a rust bucket, but oh well if it is. Throw a mattress in the back and make it a camper

That would be cool if we just want to keep it simple. Who knows what the plan will be.

Finally got the bus this weekend. The plate on the overhead vent says its a 66. It has its issues, but not to bad. Will it need a lot of work to make perfect, yes. Can it be made into a fun little weekend getaway van for some camping yes and that may be the direction we move. Still up in the air. Here are some more pics.

Rockers(have some rust, but seems pretty minimal all things considered):

And I think that something bounced up into my undercarriage:

Other than surface rust it looks really solid. Unlike what I've been looking at around here. :x Any VW that has spent it's time here on the Gulf coast is rusted away.

Decided to revisit this one. Have done a little work on it, but no pics yet. I have cut out some of the rust in the right rear rocker. Have to get the wheel arch first to fill it back in. Also started cutting out the front wheel tubs to make room for some suspension mods. Will try and get some pics in the next few weeks for you

Oh yeah and I have cleaned off most of the bondo on the front and started to pull out the dent with the stud puller. The bus looks like pin head now in the front :hillbilly:
