Ryan has the right idea for sure. When I was bought my 60, the whole goal was to be able to do the work M-F after work and be able to drive to work on Saturdays. If I were you I'd figure out what you want to do first, and start gathering the parts and supplies you need to do the job before you start. Nothing worse then jumping head first into a project and be slowed up by parts and/or funds delays. They are project killers for sure.

Good luck with the build man , sounds like it will be nice, and there are lots of people around willing to help I'm sure. I live way south of Houston or I would give you a hand. I dont think Nick has never had air ride so don't take any advice from him there , lol. now if you want to go fuel injection then he might be the guy to talk to. Airkewlded makes nice shit, yea it may be more money than other options , but you know what they say. You get what you pay for. Problem with air ride in my opinion is air shocks don't work as well as bags but you can't run a bag on both sides of your beam like you can shocks, unless you do some custom fabricating. if you do the one side bagged beams then you sag on one side.

I had an airkewlded kit and it works but you will be dealing with an air compressor, wires, switchs, valves a tank and well is it worth it ?

I may put the 66 vert on air at some point but the show car that I am building will not be air, too much stuff to deal with, and my non air beam is also from airkewled because Pete builds nice shit. Going static drop is just so much easier. Good luck man and if I can help
you I will. Just send me a pm.

You can also ask red James or Nate aka lucky penny or krusty they also have air rides.

Just my 2 cents.

Nate knows quite a bit about airride. And no that's not a Mexican thing, ok maybe it is.
I would do what you can and try to not take more things off than can be grown back on to enjoy the ride. My car started as a quick project that turned into 3 years and about 13 grand later still needs some stuff done/redone. As far as being a dLk car, all it takes is willingness to help others and enjoy Aircooled vw's and an invite.

With that cash you can do alot . But do like the others have said. Do stuff that can be done and still let you be able to drive the car. There will be the task that take more money and time but get all your stuff ready (money , parts ) that way it's not down doing nothing to it. More projects get sold when they sit idle.
