One thing I am trying to wrap my head around and would like some advice on. Wiring. Car has none. Wiring harness completely striped out. Not a big deal as we have already planned on converting to 12 volt. The question is, what harness should we use? A 60 would have screw terminals and dual 4 space fuse blocks. A 61 would have the cutout for the 8 space fuse block and spade terminal ends. All the switches we have are spade. I guess we could use a 61 harness and make a custom mount for the fuse box but not sure the best route. Very open to suggestions on this one.

thanks!

If everything you have is spade, I'd go 61 style from wiring works. I don't think he even makes a 60 only harness. When I did my 60 vert I did 59 vert wiring harness, but I did 59 and earlier column, wheel, and turn signal switch.

Cool project, 60's are special, but you already know that

I would get the 60 and just crimp on the connectors needed

I hear ya man. Garage needs a lotta work. But when we moved in we could barely fit the buggy in, now we have two cars in there.

Did some more work last night. Got what was left of the drivers side pan stripped off.

Got a bunch of junk to clean out of the tunnel and have to try and figure out how to repair the master cylinder mounting area. Looks like the spacer fell out and it got crushed.

Easily fixed with some tubing.

So I don't need to worry about straightening it? Just get another spacer (maybe in there, haven't fished with a magnet yet) or fabricate a spacer and all will be good?

Mine was just like that and I found the spacer in the pan. Put the spacer in and mount up the mc.

Got a little more done over the weekend in between rain and other commitments.

Started fitting DS pan

Got passenger side cleaned up

Also got the shift rod out to give us a little more room to clean the tunnel out. Also fished around inside the master cylinder area with a magnet, but no luck on finding the spacer.

Just catching up on my reading. I would order the correct wiring harness. as for the spacer that fell out. I have lost many of those over the years and I have never replaced one. the MC will still work without them. If you do have some extra tubing laying around it should be pretty easy to make.
