Also, what is the long slot in the dash?....... defrost?

Yep. 66 and 67 only had the single ones in the middle I believe. After 67 they went to 3 vents. It looks like a solid start. Is that a faded ruby red?

Those are just beauty rings on the wheels, might be smoothies underneath!

The wheels underneath the beauty rings are definately slotted. The og color of the car was a red of somesort, whatever red that was offered that year. The orange was sprayed on sometime later, and the painter was not what I'd call a stickler for detail. He never opened the decklid, hood, or doors to paint behind them. It is not the most desirable year of bug for some, but I've actually always liked the 67's. Headlights look cool, and it was kind of the last of the og bug. If anything else, my daughter will love to drive it. And I'm happy with the price too. :D

What do you think boys? Found this one for a grand. 20K on a rebuilt engine, otherwise all og. Typical Az. car, DRY! no rust anywhere, not even under the battery. Immaculate pan. needs window rubber and a windshield. Front fenders been hit by the tow vehicle that used to pull it during sharp turns. All in all, nice car. ( notice the tin cover over the pulley bolt, anybody seen that before? I havn't.)

My 69 has that ...

Nice bug..
