Nice work! I guess I should get over there tomorrow to finish the back side of the rear apron.

I also got an order in from ISP... new tail pipe, and tail light seals.

Why the special bearing caps?

I got a set coming also, nothing special about them except the material and says ISP on them;they are the correct ones for short axles and they are machined down for extra clearence if you use rear disc

Why can't you use beetle bearing caps? Is it only necesarry if you are going to run disk brakes? This is the first I've heard of needing special bearing caps with a short axel swap.

Again there is nothing special about them!!

They are the same as beetle bearing caps, used with short axles.....
From the ISP Ad

Billet Short Axle Bearing Caps
new axle bearing caps for short axle conversions - same as VW part # 311501311
new billet made from T-6060 aircraft grade alloy,
these are the ones needed for the bus guys when installing a strait axle kit
and for all other ghias and type 3's that are converting to short axle
improved design over the factory cap, we removed the material in the center that covers the oil seal
on a factory bearing cap this material would interfere with installation of most rear disk brake conversion kits, either on street cars or sand toys or race cars

The dash came in from Just Dashes today  Looks pretty good. ISP says the windshield does NOT have to come out to get this in??? Anyone have any personal experience? Look at the last picture, there's an edge down at the bottom of the dash. I guess it gets covered with a trip piece??? Sorry in advance, these are fuzzy Iphone pics :(
