Do you have any problems shoehorning in that motor? It looks really nice and clean. Great job with the overall look

It's not too bad, but you have to install the motor as a completely stripped long block, no pulley, no pulley tin, no valve covers, no exhaust, nothing. Once you get it in there its easy to put together. The only tin I had to trim was the breast plate on the pulley end, I had to take a lot off of it. Oh, and the doghouse vent that goes through the front firewall tin, I had to cut it too. My motor is almost 1/8" narrower than a stock 1600, so I'm sure that helped a little too. Paul's 2332 I'm building will be over a quarter inch wider than a 1600, so his may take a little more "shoehorning" to get it in there.

Brian, remember the engine stand set up Lance has for his Chevy motors? If you can design one for VW motors, I'd be up for building one for CPE. It would be cool to start, break-in, and tune motors before they go into a car!! Let me know

Not much new to report, I rebuilt my carbs yesterday and got them back on the car, haven't had a chance to drive it yet though, but hopefully that will solve my problems. Then I need to get back to my data logging system and figure out why the tach signal isn't working on it. Once I get that ironed out I can finish tuning it.
In the mean time, here's some pics of the old girl from the TX Classic 8-)
