Well today my car decided to try and suck the air bellows into the cooling fan........ The chunk of rubber that was removed is now believed to be stuck between the tin and the cylinder. I know this because I can smell it burning. What side its on, I have no fucking clue! I am gonna spend Sunday pulling the motor and removing any debris. I also have to order a new bellows now. PITA. Now I know why it was over heating and causing it to diesel after I killed the ignition. I thought I had some bad gas, so I retaded the timing 5 deg. God only knows what my plugs look like! On the plus side of things: Kermit can order dual Webber 34ICT's for $550 on his next shipment If I want. Linkage and shorty T3 single port intakes included & option to buy the dual port intakes. I think I have decided I am gonna build a 1750cc 86X74 stroke motor with 1.4 ratio rockers matched to a really mild cam. Should be fairly economical to build and fun to drive with these carbs. And no case work! Now I gotta get off my ass and tear down that long block thats sitting on the bench.

Damn bro!
Sorry to hear about your bad luck? What are the bellows (for those of us that aren't T3 people), is that the big oval rubber boot at the intake to the fan shroud? Sounds like you've got a nice motor planned, met me know if you need some help! 8-)

wow, that sucks. I thought that the air control bellows was the little cylindrical thingie under the cylinders. From what I understand, they're not used much in warm climates. (I may be way off)

Hope you get your car running the way you want it.

Sorry to hear about that, WCM has the good replacement ones. I'll be getting a new one now for sure!

Ya, its da air boot that connects the cooling shroud to the rear of the car. Mine wasn't strapped down and it pulled loose. I guess the new one will have straps.

So I decide to pull the car into the garage to pull the motor and I run over my oil drip pan. I guess it flexed upwards and hit the fuel line. So as I'm getting out I smell gas. "WTF?" I look under the front of the car and its dribbling out. Did I mention the 1/2 tank of gas I had........I managed to get the car up on jack stands and the passenger tire pulled in less that 5 minutes.(Thank God for compressed air) :P Once it was in the air I loosened up the clamp and slid the rubber line forward 1/2" until it stopped dripping. Now the fun part.....How do I fix the line with that much gas in the tank? Well, I decided that if I use my good cutters I could cut the line, yank off the torn/broken hose and jam the good line back on the fitting without loosing too much gas, I wouldn't make tooooo big of a mess. It seemed to be a big Hail Mary moment when I did it. Gassoline running down my arm was lots o'fun! I guess now its time to let down the front and put up the rear. You can smell the rubber burning on the engin tin. I hope it hasn't melted into a big mess. I am charging the camera batteries right now to take pics.
