Sounds like a plan. To get your heads machined (valve job, valve guides, new valves) will cost about the same as buying reman. heads for $119 a pop.

if you were trying to do a budget rebuild then just run those bitches, who knows how long they have been cracked and running like that... Then save your pennies and build a real motor, lol

and took a look at the seats and the cracks are minimal, to say the least. Plus now I can really clean the valves and seats, proper like.

I bought some new OE pushrod tubes, then I found a set of the plastic tube and spring type in a box of parts. Would the spring type be better?
