I drove her around the block a couple times today, maybe like a mile total, just as a couple initial "let's see what goes wrong" runs. So far so good. She sounds mean as hell, lol. I've only been 1/4-1/2 into the throttle so far, but she pulls really hard. I'll probably try to drive it a little bit each day this week, going further and further and getting into the gas harder and harder. I also got the decklid back on with the quick release pins. Those are nice, you can have the lid off the car in about 15 seconds. The only bummer is not having a decklid spring and having to keep a prop handy. I am going to try to come up with something to mount the prop rod in the engine compartment so I don't always have to dig around in the car for it. Got the back seat back in too. It's nice to see her looking like a complete car again, its been a long road...

PS. I'll try to get Kostya to video my car running or dig out my camcorder and get some footage, mostly just for the sound 8-)

what are you gonna do with your deck lid spring? ;)

Sorry bro, I gotta keep that. Besides, it's a big spring, I don't think it would fit your car :ugeek:

I went to drive it last night to the gas station, I made it about 2 blocks, sounded like it was only running on 3 cylinders. When I go it home I confirmed by pulling the plug wires one-at-a-time that # 1 had spark, but was not running. After checking a bunch of other stuff first (pulled the plug, checked valve operation, messed with the mixture) I pulled the carb and sure enough, there was a piece of junk perfectly plugging the idle jet for that cylinder. I think it was a little piece of gasket material, upon inspection the gaskets I used seemed to have some little loose fibers on them. I pulled all the jets and blew everything out and reassembled it. I'll put it back on the car tonight and try again to go get gas
