I spoke with Gabe. If your fan is a real porche 11 blade then it's magnesium and can't be chromed or powder coated. His was polished then wet painted clear giving it that mother of pearl look.

If its a 12 blade then it can be chromed but Gabe said its probly cheaper to buy a chrome one from berg unless you can get the hook up on chroming.

I'm the one that carried gabes fan around for a month dealing with it. It vary well might work but the guy I use for chroming said nope so he polished it. I took it to my buddy that owns a powder coating company and he clear powder coated it and it out gassed causing little bubbles all over it. So it was stripped and re powder coated thinking it was a fluke and it out gassed again. So it was stripped polished and clear coated with wet paint.

Had some samples done and well........ :oops: :oops: :oops:

When I gave them the samples they were cleaned and polished smooth. The samples are engraved acrylic and didn't have the imperfections I see in them. Thought doing something like this would have been cool, I made them the size of the VW emblem, but I guess can try something else. Take a look,
