Before Harvest I took a 2 x 4 to the front driver's side fender and the rear, it was enough to bother me. I have been wanting to respray the car because of the work that was done originally to when I first had it painted. I knew the first work was crap because I wasn't happy with it when I got it the first time, but the guy that did the work tried several times to match the paint he had sprayed and gave up. He refused to fix the mistakes he had done. By mistakes I mean obvious mistakes, like the doors and hood not color matching the body!! I took the car to him soda blasted in bare metal, so he could clearly see what needed to be done before paint. Needless to say he didn't fix anything and what he could fill with bondo he did.

J&J Restorations
Fast forward 5 years later after dealing with the crappy paint, chipped paint and fender damage I decided to respray the car. Took it to a guy who has actually sprayed candy paint before. We agreed on a price and would spray the outside. He noticed some points that would be an issue and would sand the car to bare metal where needed. The more he sanded the more he found, ended up sanding the outside of the while car down to bare metal. They went and fixed several issues that he didn't understand why the used bondo, they hammered them out and moved to the next. He sprayed a sample piece to show me the color the car would be, I agreed. It looked the same as far as the candy. Turns out the first painter used a totally different base color, so now the interior color didn't match the exterior body color.
Now, I have to paint the whole dang car a second time….. I am/was pissed!! Still pissed!! So I went and took the body off the pan so he could spray the car, trying to keep the headliner because this was supposed to be a quick respray and back on the road. I didn't want to redo this car for a second time…. still pissed
Since I was going to have to do the whole car again I decided to remove the mirrors and go back to a stock mirror, which I still need. Now having to paint the interior I decided to put back the OG dash as well. Huge thanks to Scotty G for that!!! You are awesome
Since I was down to bare metal I thought I would run an OG color, Panama Beige. By the time I told him to change the color he had already started spraying the base for the candy. I didn't want to ask him or pay to start over again. So the car got sprayed the same color I had.
Anyways, car is sprayed again I have been working on it when work allows. Same color couple of changes. Color matched wheels, stock dash, stock mirrors, going back to a stock shroud and a couple of trick things I wanna do. I enjoy driving this car and can't wait to get it back on the road and drive it. Hopefully it won't be too long. At this moment I hate this car!!! I am done, I sometimes wish it would have went up in flames years ago.
This is my car
