Any time, Actually now with the making of drop spring plates I prob would have still put in a regular mid mount and just bought the drop spring plates due all the cutting needed to be done. It wasn't much but, still. We also had to make a clearnace so the hump by the nose cone doesn't touch so the body can sit flat. We did that before we even sand blasted the car.

Put my wheels back on to see if the weight of the engine would take the body down. Not much, I feel it needs to be alot lower in the rear.

Yup needs more. You need to me where the wheel barely shows. Unless you run bigger tires for a Cali look. In the weeds is where you need to be. :hillbilly: :hillbilly:

I am glad you posted that up. I had really thought about using that RLR 1" raise but that is way more work than I want to deal with.
Great thread and I agree it needs to come down a little more in the rear.

Thanks Ethan! when I bought this car originally I was clueless about VWs other than I wanted one. In hind sight I wouldn't have used the raise kit. Prob a mid mount but not the raise. But I think it's coming along well, something outside the box that has ever been built in the VI.
