Next time go with 215 or 225, those 205's just ain't wide enough for the rears.

I can't go more than 205 cuz it will hit the side wall.

He is running 17 inch wheels, I run into the same problem. These 15 inch guys don't understand. :hillbilly: the bigger the wheel the less tire you can run. I understand your pain RedJames. I run 205 because that's all you can do unless you run drop plates

I agree with you guys. My 205/50/16's have a wider tread than my old 215/60/15's. The lower the profile, the more "rectangular" the cross section. So even though I'm running 205s now, I have more rubber on the road than when I ran 215s.
Your car looks great James

It's 10-20mm that I am talking about. Offset is the key, it might require spacers to achieve but it's those little details that make it all pop. BTW, I have zero, and mean ZERO pity for you beetle guys when it comes to rear tire sizes. You guys have some good options for slightly wider fenders, I have extremely limited area in my rear tire wells but like I said OFFSET OFFSET OFFSET.

From the looks of it, I think he's close to the fender as well as the inner fenderwell. Widened fenders look goofy IMO.

James, I think the 205/50s look good!
