Well as most ( if not everyone ) knows, Dylan and I did a swap of vehicles. The first problem that I addressed on the buggy was the lack of charging. As Dylan stated the wiring is a spaghetti mess. On top of it all, the wiring was done, and then it was bedlined. Needless to say most wires are black and covered in that stuff. There was a lack of idiot lights so I wired those in, and while the Alternator was putting out, it wasn't getting back to the battery. A little help from Boom, and it was realized the alt wasn't getting a good ground to the block. Quick fix was to run a wire from the strap to the stand and it worked. Took it out last Sunday, put about 50 or so miles on it, and the motor locked up. We tore into the motor Thursday evening. Whomever built the motor in the past, decided there was a need to seal it with silicone. Lots of it. As a matter of fact, one of the case bolts was covered completely in it. Upon pulling the oil pump cover, we found a chunk of silicone in the oil pump, and the oil return grove was completely filled with it. The number three rod was welded to the crank due to lack of oiling.

You can see the globs of silicone on the case studs in the above pics for an idea of how much was used.
So onto the next motor. In one of Dylans trades he ended up with a relatively complete '67 H code 1500sp. Been sitting for 20+ years. Was however exposed to the elements. Upon removing the manifold, we noticed water in the heads. The motor is getting a set of dual port heads so no worries. Here are some pics of the insides.

Thermostat still attached

Hopefully the lower end is in good shape as there was plenty of oil in the case. New pistons and cylinders and hopefully will have a decent running little motor.
