Just get a set of stock GHIA ball joint spindles .. if you're running disc right now..
that will get you up.. and then you can lower it back to what you need.

I do know that my car wasn't happy with stock beam-drop spindles and 165 tires.. I had to get a lower profile tire or the tire was in my fender with stock width beam..

I'd keep the beam you have and go with stock height spindles..

the GHIA ones will allow the use of backing plates also..
to which I have a few sets.. heck I may even have a few sets of stock disc spindles also..

I'd get with that corrisicana GHIA guy here on the board and ask him if he has a spare set.. later modles preferred for use of the later tie rod end..that you already probably have having drop spindles.

I will go with... disc or drum.. will not change the distance on the width.. as with 4 lug setups like this they are equal..

if anything..the little bolts that stop travel on the steering box may need adjusting..

and if those are the after market fenders with the UNROLLED lip.. they do tend to be a pain with these issues..

No, the beam is too low and rubbing the fenders .. even bent the drivers side .

They are tucked in enough.

These are stock fenders too.

The beam would be ok with stock spindle because I would gain 2.5 inch up. I then could adjust somewhere down from there.

I'm thinking run the stock drum brakes with stock spindles and the adjustable narrowed beam. And maybe later get another beam so I can use my disc brakes and drop spindles .

Sounds like a plan. The spindles also adjust the geometry when lowered.. Doesn't sound like you're going to be that low though.. Is it lower than this?

Do you think your rubbing issues would be corrected going to a smaller tire? Smart Car tire?

That looked like a huge tire to be running up front.
