Well been driving here quite a bit lately. But almost 300 miles on it in the last 3 weeks. Been a blast as I had just about forgotten how much fun she is to drive. But, unfortunatly, sitting up for almost 3 years and hardly being started in that time, problems have popped up. Mainly an oil leak, and a pretty good one at that. Using about 1/2 quart every other day or so. From the looks of it, appears to be coming from the flywheel seal. So time to do some upgrades/repairs. I hate that I have a 40 horse when I should have a 36 horse, so since I need to pull the engine, I figure now is a good time to change shrouds so it at least looks sorta right. Here is my list of things I am think I need to buy, feel free to add to this as I am sure I will forget something..
CB Performance 36HP Doghouse Shroud Kit (pn 2675)
Engine Seal Kit
Flywheel Seal
New Exhaust? Mines kinda rusty.. but I like the dual tailpipes not sure what to get
Engine to body seal
Maybe a CB performance Maxi Filter (pn 1756)
Vert Decklid

Any thoughts? Opinions? Am I headed the right way? Not looking to go fast, just reliable.

Should be a nice freshening. The filter looks pretty neat, but how low is the engine off the ground when you're layed out?

Flywheel seal should be in the engine seal kit. You forgot a case of brake cleaner to clean that biotch!

Nah... I didnt forget it. I got some Eagle One Mag Wheel cleaner that should do just fine :) What seal were we talking about that wouldn't come in the kit then?

Maybe 2 inches or so layed out with bags deflated. I would love to put a thin line sump on there for the extra capcity, but those show to be 1 7/8". My guess is that the maxifilter is 1 1/2" or so. Will have to call them to get exact measurements.

If it was me, I'd roll it without the sump or CB filter. Should work well either way though!

Unless you have a high revving motor you can skip the sump.
What's a Maxifilter, is that one of those filters that goes on the oil pickup tube? If it is, don't use it.

This has been at a "friends" body/custom shop for 3 1/2 years. Was supposed to be fixxed in a weekend. I got it back in worse shape then I gave it to him. Honestly mostly my fault as I forgot about till the other day. Needless to say I got some work to do on it.
