Alright alright...lemme break it down,

Ive been on the HUNT for correct split window front seats for a while now and have been unsuccessful the last 7 months. Ive been sending emails all over the world, and alas, someone has what i need! Matter of fact, alot of what i need. Ive been in contact with an individual who is parting out a complete 51 beetle and has the front seats.
My current front seats are correct for a zwitter. As you can see, they have a straight back tombstone-like back rest. The only difference between my seats and the correct split seats is the arch in the back rests. So all i really need is two backrests...

Alright, heres the situation. he happens to have two spare split backrests that need some work and for cheap! Also, he happens to be selling a complete interior out of a 51 beetle to include the complete front and rear seats and door panels in OG upholstery. Nowadays, a pair of bare split front seats are going for $900 (if you can find them!), i feel id be getting a steal if i bought the whole interior plus the two spare backrests at the price he quoted me. I could walk away with everything for about $1900.
Here is everything, and now you can see the difference in the backrests on the seats.







Now once i got to looking at everything, i noticed the panels on the doors were noticeably different and the trimming on all four panels is incorrect for 51. Turns out, for some reason, the PO replaced the two front door panels and retrimmed them all in the chrome stip and horizontal double pleats back around 1953. So yes OG to the car, but not all the way correct.
The first and second pics are of a proper door panel for my car, the third/fourth is of the incorrect ones in the car that are for a late 52-55 car...






So should I buy everything and attempt to make a killing selling my current interior for the OG interior? I figured with the sell of my current front and rear seats and the spare split backrests, I could damn near come off with an OG interior (minus the incorrect panels!) for right around the price for a pair of bare $900 front seats after I recoup all of my money. Here are the bare frames. Im either going to just go for the bare frames and have my interior redone eventually, or buy everything to keep what i need and sell off the rest....

I would go ahead and get it and put the interior back the way you want it and sell off the rest. Sounds like a killer deal!

Billys buddy Donnie has been looking for a split interior for years you might have an avenue to get rid of the extra's locally.

someone get a hold of Donnie then! lol. Maybe we can work a deal to satisfy all parties.

Shipping is gonna be CRAZY though. possibly 500 or so. And thats the snail mail towards end of year...

Anyways, the whole complete car is being parted out. so all is up for grabs. body is going to thailand, floorpan to canada.
