I never had a 1600 with a CHT gauge, by my 40 horse ran about 370 or so. It ran hotter than that till I messes with the jetting

I was reading, i think the first thing to go is the valve guides at 475, do you think getting bigger idle jets will mess with the acceleration :? I mean like make it doggier than heck :x

no, not necessarily. but it may be too lean now, which would make it run hot. We need to fix your float levels first, if they're not right no amount of jetting will ever get it to run absolutely perfect. got to get all the basics right first. ;)
