We're not going bigger right now, but yeah the needle is still bouncing around. Usually it's intermittent, but today it was doing it the whole time, so I just unplugged it.

Did you check to see if you have any wires that might have been nicked or cut??? Are there any spliced wire since they don't give you enough wire? If so what gauge of wire are you using??

No I haven't check all that yet, and not sure of the gauge of wire I used. I'll be pulling the motor this week anyways, so I'll re-run the wires.

Every looked unmolested, and all the bearing were standard size.

The engine had low compression, and was blowing out plumes of white smoke.
