well someone asked for pics of my notch project. finally got it home today. Plan is Suby power, and yes it needs work. But good pans, IRS, very little rust to repair. And someone already did the disassembly for me 8*)

Lots of work and its on the back burner until I get my square paint and interior. Hopefully done with that one in Nov. It will be my daily driver. Notch will take some time!

Looks like a great starting point! Are you going to use an STi motor?

Yes pretty good start except for the stolen vents up front and the cut out rear apron. Looking at a 67 rusty fasty for some of these parts and the interior I need. Not too worried about keeping everything OG and will ditch the idea of pushbutton working. Probably switch to smooth dash and later style but undecided.
For motor still deciding between the 2.0 JDM turbo and 2.5JDM. thinking of the 2.5 for more torque and a few less parts. total cost is close on both. the 2.5 is about $500 more but lots less parts and easier to work on. Once done I want a driver for much of the year. I wanna get the body off the pan and solve the water routing issues first. Thinking of the subynotch method of down the tunnel and ditching the heater cables. I could then use the electric heater and fan made after market for the bug...should be adaptable. I need to start making my budget and see where I'm at. This one might be a two year project due to suby power cost. Basically if I go through outfront for everything the entire motor package is close to $4500 for turnkey. I need to see what I can do if I use a JDM from someone else. I do like that they test run every one first though. saves some hassle. Big hitter is the ignition/FI for one of those things. $1500 for their management system! a little spendy but I'd spend close for a dist and dual carbs so its pretty even.
