I'm going to share the new project we have at my shop. It's a 1959 double cab. This thread will hopefully help keep me focused and motivated thoughout the paint process 8-) This is how it came in today from Dallas. The first step is the soda blaster. It's going to Dennis at A&R soda blasting.

I need to thank Paul (The Bucket) for introducing me to the owner and sending him my way. This project will keep me from buying any VWs for myself :lol: Which is good, because that only costs money. This one will pay, just wish I could keep it awhile when it's done :P

That thing needs to be put back together! Not stripped and repainted!

I learned today that the 59 DC has some distinguishing lines on the bed floor, and the side panels. These are where single cab panels were used to make the DC panels. (59 only) The seams will not be covered up. Leaving it obvious to those who know their buses.

My boy is after perfection. :thumbs: He is thinking about a CPE motor too....
