Thanks Ethan. Was great to see you, and that amazing car you built!
I think the toughest thing with the roll bar is figuring out what color to have it powder coated. I'll probably pull it out this weekend and drop it back off with Ron for welding, then it's off to PC'ing.

Here's another little project to go with my roll bar. I was assuming I would have to mount it on top of my carpet, since if I put it below the carpet I would have to cut slots and holes in the carpet for the bars to come through on the floor of the car, and I don't really have any way to finish the edges of the carpet. Then I realized, I could do the same thing I did for my shifter, just 3d print trim rings to cover the ratty, cut edges. Here's my first test piece. I will paint them to match the carpet most likely.

It will be a much cleaner looking install with those huge floor plates hidden below the carpet and the trim rings covering the area the bars come through.

Back out it comes. I'll drop it off at RLR on Thursday for them to finish welding up, then it's off to powder coating. Think I'm going to go with brown. As close to my seat frames as I can get.

That will look good. How hard was it to get in and out?

Getting it in was a bitch, but I learned some tricks, like pulling the rear view mirror and my shift light (at the top of the A pillar) to allow the top of the main hoop to lean forward as much as possible. Getting it out was easier for sure. Putting it in the final time should be easier since it's going under the carpet. The carpet make it a very tight fit getting it past the heater channels. With the carpet peeled back it should slip in much easier.

Do you have a list of build specs? I have a spreadsheet with about 50 engine builds, specs, and dyno information. I'm always looking to add to it.
