I printed one of these for RedJames too. He's going to have to sand and paint it though, I'm not doing that for him! :P

James, I'll try to ship it out to you on Tuesday or Wednesday.

After driving around with a cracked windshield for probably more than 10 years, I'm *finally* putting in a new one! One or two of you may remember the story behind my winsldshield. A certain long-gone dLk member, who's name I shalnt mention, had a bunch of Oval windshields cut at some local Houston glass shop. Well, they did a really shitty job and the windows were all oversized. I personally broke 2-3 of them trying to get them in my car, I think Billy broke one or two, and I think "This other guy" broke one or two. Anyway, I was so disgusted after the last one, I've been driving with a cracked windshield ever since. I actually bought this one from Koch's several years ago at the Type 2 show at the Classic weekend, but until very recently still didn't have any desire to install a window... that's how bad it was.
If this one breaks, I'll take the damn thing to Lenny and pay him to install one! Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!

It was an epic battle for good and evil, but I got the bitch in. With some help from my lovely wife ;-)
The damn thing literally fought me every inch of the way. I fought back though with shear determination and a litany of very profound language. It didn't see that coming!

I remember those windshields! Glad you got the new one in without cracking it. I learned a few tricks when the glass guy installed the one in the Liberty bug. I have not broke one since then.

Yeah, those windshields were terrible, the edges were so wavy the looked like someone cut them with a hack saw. And way oversize, which is why they broke.

Glad you got it, wasn't too sure what the mail situation would be in the Houston area.

If anyone else is running one of those shifters and wants one of the bases just let me know.

It's crazy how something so simple can be a huge pain in the rear. Sounds like you had some good bonding time with the wife so that's a plus.
