I drover her around about half an hour today. The lowspeed circuit still needs some work, but the drivability is good enough to start driving it to work. I mounted my LM1 on an old cell phone windshield mount so I can keep an eye on it when driving to help me sort the jetting out. So far it looks like its going rich in the upper part of the progression circuit, it may need a larger idle holder.

your 55 is smooth -has to be the nicest ride in the parking garage. Is your exhaust loud in the garage, many car alrams going off?
I am curious on how the LM1 functions. When you mentioned going rich in the upper part of the progression circuit is it by a large amount or very minor amount, can you feel or hear the difference?

Yea I bet that sounds awesome in the garage... :) heck even mine sets off a couple old school alarms.. but I think those style alarms are few and far between these days.. I wait for the beep beep beep.. then punch it a little.. for the full weewhoweewhowee... :)

Hey, thanks man!!

You know, its funny on the exhaust, the Bullet muffler is definately louder than my old regular Sidewinder muffler, and the engine is bigger and way nastier than the old one, but it doesn't seem to set off alarms like the old one did. I think that since the regular Sidewinder muffler's outlet pointed down toward the ground, it created way more reverberation in the parking garage than the Bullet style one, which dumps out from the side. I'm parking in a new deck now that I think is beefier and more spacious too, so that may have something to do with it.

On the mixture and LM1, yes, if its too far off you can feel it, and of course the LM1 displays the actual mixture. When the AFR gets into the 10's under low load you can feel it stumbling and coughing. After driving it to work this morning, I'm starting to suspect it may be that transition is coming on a bit too early, and in addition the main circuit looks a little rich. I just need to drive it around a bit more and then make an educated guess on which jets to change and go from there. I have a full set of jet reamers and jet gauges though, so I can make changes pretty quick. And on IDAs the jets are all on top, so swapping them out is a piece of cake.

Finally installed my 120 mph speedo. The engine only has about 50 miles on it, so the mileage on the speedo will be pretty close 8-)

So how fast do you think the '55 can do?

Made some 167 main jets from some 150s I had and tried them out. Muuuch better, pulls much harder on the main circuit and overall drivability is improved. I think I need to go up another half size on the idles, maybe down a little on the idle airs. Now that its getting close, its getting freaking fast, like scary fast how fast it accelerates. Totally nuts. And I haven't even had it floored all the way yet, lol.
