
Here are a few pics of the Beetle as it is today. Not quite finished, but getting there.
Car is virtually brand new. Pan was disassembled, stripped, cleaned, new battery box area welded in and entire unit coated with POR 15. New 2-1/2" lowered and 2" narrowed front beam. IRS rear lowered 1-1/2". 4-wheel disc brakes all around and urethane bushings front and rear. New brake lines. Rebuilt pedal assembly. New brake master cylinder. Rebuilt "Freeway-Flyer", Super Diff Transmission. New chrome 8-spoke EMPI wheels with Yokohama rubber. New 1915cc Engine with dual EMPI carbs. Ceramic coated, tuned "Hideaway" exhaust system. The body was soda blasted and the painter (Shark Performance Art), took care of the sanding, blocking, priming and painting in Bahama Blue Clearcoat. '71 fenders were replaced with fiberglass pre-67 style with smaller tail lights and early model headlights. New Cream colored headliner with LED lighting. New Scat low-back seats with matching door panels. New 3-Point Color matched seat belts. Dash (instrument panel) had the molded foam removed for the early "metal" look and most all the knobs replaced with early-model Ivory. Rebuilt speedo and all new analog Auto Meter/VDO guages. New digital radio is still to be installed. New Grant GT steering wheel. New EMPI Shifter. Entirely new wiring loom throughout car. All new custom "oatmeal" carpet. Custom speaker/storage box replaces the rear seat. 3-way speakers in the seat bottom storage area as well a speakers in the leg area in the front wheel well areas. New front windshield and added new rear "pop-out" windows. All new window scrapers and rubber and door seals. Replaced old bumpers with new, smaller Euro-style blade bumpers. New running boards. Lots of "can't see" details like all stainless Body to frame bolt/clamps, electronic ignition, bigger oil pump and fan and of course a nicely painted fuel tank!
