I want to put a grab handle on the dash, do I need to use a late model one or an early model one?

Make sure you tighten up the rear view mirror. That way you can cruise faster than 65 ;) .

Billy was bitchin that he didn't want to drive faster than 65, cause the mirror would shake. He was following Ben in his Oval!

Is there a difference in dash grab handles from early to late? The dash pad has been removed on the '69 and Chris wants to put a handle on the dash.

Isn't the late model molded into the dash pad?

I think that you can use either one. If you took off the dash pad, you may have to tap the threads that hold on the handle to the dash. I am not sure though if the late handle has a coller on the pad side or not. Also I am not sure if the earlier handles have the same hole spacing as the late. You can make it work though

The handle on my 69 is a sepperate piece from the dash pad, but the base of each side (where it bolts to the dash) Is slanted to follow the contour of the dash. i don't know if it would mount flush with out the dash pad. May have to go early or modify the late style.

I don't know if you can see it good enough in this picture.

Any updates Chris? Did you replace those CV joints yet? Make any other changes?
