Car Info: Der Luftkulers brings you the Liberty Bug raffle with all proceeds going to charity. This car is being built as you watch online and being debuted at Dub Splash 2014. This is a complete “Pan Off” restored 1964 Type 1 VW Sedan. Our sponsors and club members have generously donated all the necessary parts and labor. Every nut and bolt on this car has been caringly touched during this ground up restoration. The bug was taken completely off the pan for paint and body. It’s wearing the original color of Sea Blue that was applied by club professional Jeremy Eubanks. The car has a completely rebuilt 40hp single port motor which is correct for this year. The 4” narrowed beam was built and donated by Lucky’s Fab Shop and is sitting on Cosmic rims for that “Just Right” look. This bug is the result of hundreds of man hours donated by the DLK family in our attempt to give back. You could be the Lucky new owner of the one and only “Liberty Bug”. The winner will be responsible for ALL registration, title, fees, taxes, and vehicle shipping costs.
Charities: All proceeds from the Liberty Bug raffle will be divided equally between two charities that support our military families and veterans. These proceeds will be donated on the behalf of Dub Splash in remembrance of Sgt. Joshua Michael. The first charity is Soldiers’ Angels (http://www.soldiersangels.org) who focuses on providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. The second is the Honor Flight Network (http://www.honorflight.org), created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. Please check out their websites to learn more.
