Went on a road trip yesterday and convinced it to come home with me. 1972 Baja Champion SE, 1 of 1,000 built. Unique wheels, paint color, and dash plaque.

Awesome! Miguel loves those road trips. So what is the plan?

Eventual plan so far is return it to as much stock as possible. Probably will add disk in front, possibly lower a bit for handling sake. Or I may leave it stock height and put bigger tires and add to the "Baja" theme.

The body and pan are really good minus some bondo on the roof. It's been resprayed once, but interior paint is clean as far as I can tell. Engine is in pieces in a wash tub... AE case and OG sheet metal.

I really want to get it running and just drive it to a show as is, thin layer of moss and all :hillbilly:

Yes, I'll be keeping them. I have no plans to sell either one. Funny though, this one seems to be better shape than the white one. Never been hit as far as I can tell and it it much more original too.

Is your steering wheel grey or light blue like the link you referenced?
