It's not going to get easier as you get older...

Drove it to toys for tots in Pasadena. It wanders a bit, but did pretty good on its first freeway trip. 100-110 the whole way (thats KPH LOL). I really need to clay bar, polish and wax it, but it shines pretty good as is

on the way home, I guess I wasn't paying enough attention and hit the wrong overpass, taking me to 45 to downtown, which was way way way backed up. So, off on Telephone, cruised the hood, ended up at the empty food truck park where they did the RedBull Urban Rhythym BMX / Aerosol Warfare thing last year. Some of the art was done by my friends, so, perfect oppertuinity to take some pics

I'm still working on some of them, more later

couple things to catch up on

got this nasty (but correct) TE6B4 coil from Dave Taylor

Image

it cleaned up pretty nice. polished up the bakelite, sanded it down and resprayed and applied the correct sticker. A little detail that only early early type 3 people would even notice. I even found and cleaned up the coil bracket that has the bosch logo stamped into it. Score! I still need old style black plug wire ends, tough to find the right wires. And I need a slotted instead of phillips air cleaner screw, and the air cleaner sticker for the 6 months only air cleaner

Image

So I was driving it around and noticed it got a little louder

oops. more NOS parts to buy

Image

so I got that done...

I have every part I need to install the radio now too, except the dash speaker. I couldnt find the black vinyl covered underdash box for the stereo, they are early car only, I didn't want to use the late ones or the repop thats $100 and 6 week wait and still looks wrong. So I had to buy another radio on german eBay

Image

German eBay isn't easy, but I got the hang of it now. They don't really use paypal over there, you have to wire their bank directly, and have some trust that your german and their english will work...
I finally got it last night, swapped the radio out for the nice one I have. I'm still looking for a dash speaker, if I can't find one I'll use the rear shelf speaker until I can find one
