That's looking really good!
Couple questions: Maybe I missed it, but is your top chopped? Looks low, but maybe my imagination? Are those pre-made covers over the fender wells? Looks like maybe fiberglass?

As far as completing timing....it's a ways off....so much to do.

Yes, top is chopped 4-1/2" and has a '64 hard sunroof grafted in. Yes, the white stuff is fiberglass. A guy in CA used to have a kit called "Hi-Boy" and I bought a set from him. I am reshaping the front pieces to follow the shape of the metal that I cut and shaped closer to the hood. They get bonded to the body and molded in. The small screws are only temporary.

Finally got around to taking a couple of pics of body work. Got a great decklid from Creative Car Craft (their glass is by far the best being made). I've glued and riveted the right side front & rear inner fenders and the rocker panel. I've done the basic fill for the initial smoothing, added a 4" wide fiberglass strip to reinforce everything. Then I'm filling and sanding for the final shape. Needless to say this takes time and a lot of sanding dust!!!

Went to the Eureka Springs VW Show this past weekend so not much work till the last couple of days. I've just about completed the fiberglass to the body work on the right side. The left side should be a bit easier now that I've completed this part and have seen the problems.
I've also welded up the windshield wiper holes and the radio antenna hole.

Media blasted the original fuel tank (finally I'm lucky to have an original part). Cleaned up some dents and shot some primer on it. Due to my custom rack & pinion steering system, gotta wait till the body goes back on the pan and then a steering shaft and some universals to be fitted. Then I'll probably have to re-shape the bottom left side of the tank so I'm not painting it yet....

Also finished the inside of the front lower "clip" section. Lots of welding, some filler and some primer. I also added 4 nutplates on the center section so I can add a "hider" plate. Hope to have a chromed, VW "gear" logo made by Lazaro mounted on this plate....
