When I bought it, 1991 -- $750. Ended up having a bad motor, didn't find that out 'til later.

Wrong front fenders, dented up hood, fixed quarter windows, cheesy pop top sunroof.

Arcata, California. This was my second VW. Sold the first to help fund college.

Got tired of using the bug as a daily commuter around 1995, and put it in the garage. Tinkered with it, collected parts, etc until I could afford paint job 2002.

New fenders, hood, removed the pop-up sunroof and found lots of bondo and rust, so I installed a Streetbeat fiberglass ragtop.

Was going for the 80s look. Even in early 90s, it was hard to find genuine Rossi headlights and Italian Vitaloni Baby Turbo mirrors.

Initially the car wasn't lowered, after about 2 years, I had Franklin's VW Werks give it the treatment.

4 inch narrowed, dropped spindles, disc brakes.
