So most of you know this bus. It's a pretty special bus to say the least. First of all, it's a Standard Sunroof in Palm Green/Sand Green. This bus belonged to Richard Gouin who died less than a year ago in a motorcycle accident. This bus was ordered by his grandfather New in Germany with the sunroof option. He drove it there before shipping it to the states. The story goes that it was used in the oil fields and then parked in the garage in 1961.

Richard decided that he wanted the bus but it was tied up in his Grandfather's trust. After dealing with attorneys and family, Richard finally wound up with the bus. He dug it out and did some preservation work on it. It's wearing 95% of the original paint and the the interior is still 100% original. The rubber and the glass is also the original stuff. This bus is truly a time capsule  Richard enjoyed the bus for several years taking it to all the local shows.

I first saw this gem in Eureka Springs and was literally speechless. The story and originality was absolutely mind numbing. Little did I know that one day I would be the proud owner of this beauty. Richard's wife Luci, reached out to me shortly after his death to help her move some of his stuff. At that time, the bus wasn't going to be sold, but about 7 months later, circumstances dictated that the bus had to go also. I connected her with Holy Grail Garage to help with a fair estimate of value. I told Luci that I wanted her to get the maximum she could for the bus and to let him list it. A few weeks later, I woke up and knew I had to have it. Long story short, me and Scotty went and picked it up last weekend. It was bittersweet as I considered Richard a friend. I'm excited to have the opportunity to further preserve and care for this treasure

Yes, she gave me everything related to it. Including the ice chests Richard carried around

This a great piece of history. My dad did the same thing, but sold it after a while in the states. Its neat that you have the history with it. Congrats !

It is a sad story; Richard was a really good guy and we had become good friends in the past couple of years.

However, I'm very happy to see this bus in your hands, Eliot

I first saw this Bus at Dubs and Dogs. I was speechless. The history is beyond cool. I remember the owner being so proud and everyone just all over the bus. The history cause all the folks to just stare. Congrates Eliot I hope to see it again soon.
