James from Lake Charles said thats a Vanagon motor. They have a unique rear cover and oil pan as well as being tilted at 45degrees instead of 15 degrees like the Jetta. He was hoping you got the 1.9L variant, because torque...

No it came out of a rabbit Dusty's (Dusty built the body and his father built the chassis) father pulled it himself the tilt is due to going from the rabbit tranny to a bus tranny, the bell housing had to be switched to a Dasher with a Dasher flywheel to marry the engine to the tranny due to the rabbit 1.6 having a diffrent bolt pattern than the vanagon 1.6.

Yea we specifically talked about the car it came out of, he had an interesting story because it took his father several years to talk the guy out of the rabbit it sat for many years because the owner planned to do some type of restoration to it.
Yes its a 6 rib bus tranny :thumbs:
