I picked up this 1962 a couple of months ago after being away from VWs for about 15 years. I plan to really get into working on it in the next couple of months to get it on the road sometime this summer. The car has been converted to 12V and had a non running 1600dp in it when it was purchased. There is some rust to tackle around the lower part of the rear window and the right side A Pillar. Someone did a repair on the left side quarter pannel that is bad so that will have to come off also. Pans look good from what I can tell. I have gone through the engine already (with alot of help and phone calls to Brian). The new sand colored tweed interior is in and it looks like the only big items left to purchase are a narrowed beam and bumpers.

Here is what it looked like when I picked it up.

A couple of before and after engine pictures. I have a couple more eng. tins I am waiting for but you can get the idea.

I will keep the update going as I make progress. Body and paint are next and I think the color will be a Mint Green.

Ryan
