I removed the glove boxes to install the new harness, these poor babies are in very bad shape as you can see from the photos. So far this "getting it back on the road" build is sucking my VW funds dry and I really did not want to spend upwards of $250 on repro boxes at this time. My wife stepped in and helped me repair these boxes, I know they are not perfect but they will be perfect for the time. I was able to get the fabric way cleaner than it was, I imagine this is the original fabric. It does not match the existing seat covers and door panels. I sure wish I had taken a before picture, you could just barely see the pattern with all the grime. I went to paint the boxes and did not know if they needed to be satin black or flat black, but after I researched on here I found that they should have been grey. I doubt the grey I had on hand even remotely matches but I sprayed them anyway. here is the final product.
