Happy Tuesday Everyone! I have an issue that has me flustered. When I bought the car, the driver's side outside door handle could not be unlocked with the key, per previous owner. So, one of the first purchases I made was for some new Brazilian outside door handles. They were crap. So I went to The Samba, and got original 1966-67 outside door handles. I had them installed at Kermits and was told that the key would work. However, I have yet to be able to lock these handles and unlock with the key. Has anyone else had these issues and if so, how did you fix the issue. Thanks, -Ron |

I have installed many door handles and have never had that issue before. Maybe take it back to Kermit and have him see what went wrong |

Oh crap! At least it was just the bumper and not the body! |

Hello and Happy Monday! OK, so the "Good Hands People" at AllState are dicking me around about getting my car fixed. Is there a good Body shop that I could take my VW to that would give me a good estimate and do any work that might be needed? I am in Houston. |

That is a tuff one, you can try Erics Custom Finishes in pearland, also if you have classic car insurance call them up and see who they recommend to work on a classic |

Good Monday Afternoon! Update on the bumper situation: I was able to get a used German bumper for $50 at the Humble VW Show and Swap Meet back on March 16th. It has some pits in it, but for the money, I am not complaining. I also purchased a "STOP" Light off of the Samba and put in a LED bulb that blinks 3 times and then goes solid red. I made a video of the light installed and working. Check it out: Hopefully this will help to prevent me being rear ended again. Back to your regularly scheduled Monday... |
