Wow, great progress Mark!

When you add adjusters and narrow a beam, do you remove the upright pan mounts and do the narrowing in the middle of them beam, or do you add adjusters in the middle and then narrow toward the outside of the tubes w/o removing the upright mounts?
I can see pros and cons to each way. We are going to narrow and add adjusters to my neighbor's 66 front end.

Yes, i measured them centered 11 3/8 apart, them cut them off till the splice was done. Put them back at the same measurement of center.

Awesome, thanks Mark! When you're welding the beam halves back together in the center, do tack weld some angle iron or something across the tubes to keep them straight?

Just get a Super Beetle and then you don't have to worry about any of that antique tractor beam stuff  w:pw

We had tacked the angle to the table and clamped the beam to it.

Been getting things done the pan is almost done, need to mount the shocks and put some fluid in the brakes. Today made the decision to make the car nice not a patina car, so it got taken apart all glass out, started sanding the surface rust off, so far it is cleaning up. The amazing part all the screws and bolt came right out, only have broken one bolt so far and it was a pan bolt.
