Here we have a little project we are helping out a stereo shop that is building a Rockford Sponsered Bug with. That is a 220 amp alternator mounted on a VW engine we adopted and used the BMD serpentine pulley system to get some bite! The bug is walled out and will be filled with between 10-16 subs and they will be driven by a limited edition amp that takes up more than the entire area under the hood! It is very massive and should be a cool ride when done. I am waiting on all the chrome parts including one of the new chrome 55 amp alternators we carry to drive the bug itself. I will post some pics once it is finished and ready to go in the car. I also threw on one of the Tri-Mil ceramic double tubes I carry as they left the pee shooter cut outs in the rear apron when they painted it.
All windows are welded closed out back and decals look like windows, sorry the car is terribly dirty, they painted it about 5 years ago and put it in storage and could not find anyone to help them get it road worthy, enter me, the sucker who offered to help! It has been a fun project that did not pay much if anything but I have known the owners for ever, the original owner was the best man in my wedding and while building a new store he was killed as he went home for lunch in a car wreck about 12 years ago and his family finished the store and he always wanted a bug so here it is and that is why the pay did not matter to me as long as we can get it on the road. I did an auto stick conversion, new axle assemblies, going to go disc brakes all the way around, the pulley swap, built the alternator mounts that you can't see most of in any of the pics and it is heck for stout. Totally chroming the engine out, stainless fire wall, exhaust and chrome alternator. Then will work with them on fuel tank construction, battery trays. Then Rockford wil come in and work with them to complete the stereo design and install. Hope I can get them to attend a few VW events next year.
