I have a couple of question and I want advice from fellow users.
What brand of sound deadening material are you using?
IE.. Dynamat, Fatmat, Second Skin or Lizard Skin.

How much to apply to the interior of a bug?
IE..Square Feet

Any advice will be welcome.
Thanks, Scott in Lago

OK, some budget options to sound deaden and insulate your bug, from two different sources.

First, from Pete at Southwest Rod and Custom in Lewisville, Texas. This guy uses a lot of bad language, but the information looks to be pretty good. (I cannot seem to embed the youtube video, so here is the link)
There are 4 total videos for this...

Second, is from Chris up in New York at ClassicVWBugs.com

I have a roll of this insulation that I got from Home Depot for $18 for the roll. I will be using this stuff to insulate my bug. I'll let you know how it goes...

Don't put it on the roof. When It heats up it stands a chance of falling. The only down fall to the home depot stuff from what I've read is the smell it puts off in the summer and it tends not to bond as well as dyno mat when it gets hot.

I would use a manufacturer that is made for automobiles just my 2 cents.

I used dyno mat on the oval and was happy.

Don't use RoadBlockR, not a good product. I learned the hard way, fell off the roof had to remove the headliner to get it out. Fell off the doors and stuck to the glass really well!!! I had heck removing it off the glass, I couldn't roll the window up or remove the glass. Had to cut and tear it out of the door. Was a nightmare!!!

I would not use any of it on the roof.

I used the roll roof stuff on the floor and doors and package tray... No Smell yet and it does not smell putting it on. I used the fiber like stuff in the roof .. sorta like what was there .

And works fine for me.

Quietride.com is where I got some of mine. Then I ordered some Dynamatt from Amazon. A buddy of mine that works at Car Toys told me Amazon is the cheapest you will find it.
