so far the plan - buy some stock solex carb linkage since I lost a piece driving...

Pull the shifter wednesday and take a good look at what's going on.

Change the shift coupler. Change axle boots. check/fill trans.

Buy tires for the front...I really want to run smart car tires but the continentals have big rim savers, and I need to shave them off or see if the rim saver on the Kumho is smaller. Cant run portawalls with the big rim saver. Some people are shaving them off. Yikes

I'm turning into a beauty ring hoarder. I have some crazy ones I thought would work, but are for a bug, too deep for a type 3

So I found a set of cross lace rings

and running these. just gotta get the right front tire

had a bad fuel line under the tank, leaking gas into the tunnel... so fixed that. Shift rod busing was gone, the bracket is busted off, but gas in the tunnel...So I pulled the shift rod, changed the bushing and coupler, got the bracket and shifter lined up pretty good. worked on the brakes a little. Drove it to the Kemah car show. It drives pretty nice, needs tie ends or something, it's a little loose. All 6 windows and the sunroof open...felt great. Also added my Empi GTV wood wheel today, It's a pretty nice upgrade, and added one of my sets of beauty rings. Waiting on the new tires and my whitewalls. Still trying to find a nice upper dashpad and the door pads...

I was missing those as well. I got them luckily. I'll keep my eyes and ears open, I've been lucky to meet a lot of really good people and friends with parts at friend prices :)
