Thanks ... I'll see what the size is .. if my allen even shows it . All those column wires are attach/soldered to either the turn/high beams or the starter/ing switch. Hopefully you can splice onto something. also the horn/bearing in the column is a brown wire not to be confused with the brown wire from the turn switch.

ok the allen wrench is 6mm.

Wayne,

You rock! Big "Thanks!" to you!

While everyone is off playing up in Dallas at Sandy Lake Park, some of us are getting ready for next year's event!

Started stripping paint under the hood and the dashboard...

I have about 85-90% of the paint off of the driver's side of the car...

And then I find bondo, in some "holes" in the metal there the driver's side rear window sits. :furious: The guy that had this before me was and idiot! :furious: So, I know I should cut it out and replace with a whole pice of metal, but I have no welding supplies and and no spare metal. It appears there is no rust there, so I guess I could leave it as is. Opinions?

Plugging along...

Is it scale? Clean it up and treat it with the Por15 stuff... You could get the Por15 putty for metal too.

Just a thought.

Not sure if it is scale or not. I will probably check tonight. POR-15 has putty? That is an option. I plan to put POR-15 all around all of the windows, since I have found some very minor rusty spots when I took the glass out.

I just have to finish the dash, the inside of the doors, under the hood, the top (should be easy) and the rear of the body. Then POR 15 in strategic spots, then primer.

Oh! I also picked up two rear fenders! They are already in black primer. I just need the front fenders, and they should be soon...

Been working on car on weekends, still stripping paint, but getting close to being done. Here is a picture of the dash, well the top part anyways, and it is clean of all the paint. I still need to finish the doors, and the dash, then the fenderwells...

But, my air compressor is broken, so I will not be painting it at my house like I wanted. So I could use a painter. Doesn't someone on here paint?

I think I am done stripping paint! I have stripped paint down to metal in wheel wells, and on dash about half way down. I think I am to the point where I can get a coat of Epoxy primer and then paint. There may be some places where some body filler is needed, but not much. One spot of rust that I know of and it is small.

But to get the car anywhere, I need to borrow a tow bar. Anyone have one they would loan me? I will come and get it and return once it is at the shop, where ever the shop may be.

Pics to follow...
