Thanks John

I just got off the phone with a dude up in Dallas and locked down a deal on a 1.7L 914 motor. I'll run the 1.7 in the notch till the turbo motor is ready (that could be a couple of months or it could be a year), and the 2L with a upright conversion would be a perfect match for the westy (of course my homebrew GSXR ITB's and dizzyless ign  ) I just want the bus to keep up with traffic, I don't think I'm asking too much.

With the stock motor it should be able to keep up with most legal speed limits, but surviving impact at those speeds in a loaf is a different story. The best speed in a bus is 'happy bus speed'

Definately need that extra power to stay out from under the big rigs. 75 mph speed limit now in some places (ie 59).

Keep your eyes open for some disk brakes!

It has taken a few monsters to get the westy where it's at, that's for sure.

The generator is charging like a boss, I need to slow the frick down because I'm making stupid mistakes. I DF and D+ were backwards  So now I'm going to have a spare VR and brushes

Way to go Sparky. Mind tossing me the brushes? I'll see if I can get the other generator rebuilt.

They are yours!

Billy- I'm about to take it out on 45 and see how everything works on the open road. It was a battle all day long to get the brakes/brake lights working, but I emerged triumphant
