Didn't make it to 45, I think the fuel pump just crapped out. That and 4th gear likes to pop out, tomorrow I'll have a look at the fp....fuel injection is so trouble free compared to this carb crap :furious: :nono: :furious: :blueguy:

Nothing fell off but I did drive over a couple of curbs :hillbilly:

Thanks! Bummer on the issues but there's usually a reason (or three) they get put out to pasture.
Supposedly, lots of bus owners have used bungie cords for the 4th gear issue. Guess you need to throw a couple in with your zipties!

So I needed some more monsters and decided to take the bus, used the exact same route and the exact same thing happened. It was after a traffic light getting up to speed on a feeder road, so a long period of higher rpms. I'm going to pull the fp and look at the rod, I suspect it's mucked up and binds when the engine warms up. I did get into 4th and that gear seems to be a little quieter now and didn't kick out of gear  .

I read this somewhere ... The sleeve that the rod runs in like you said could be binding. take the bakelite sleeve out and sand the outside some. This will allow some room for expansion. Just a thought.

It could be that Wayne but it's now doing it when the motor is cold too. It's going to have to wait until Friday, I'll rebuild the fp and check the hard fuel line and the nipple coming out of the bottom of the tank. I suspect one might be clogged, there was only a small dribble coming out of the hardline when I reinstalled the fuel pump.

On a good not RedJames stopped but and we installed a rear window seal and a new slider seal, 2 more water leaks fixed

That sounds like the problem right there, should be a steady stream...
