As for what I do next, I'm trying to source some better springs right now that can handle over 650 lift and have the right seat and open pressures. Nobody really attempts to run that much lift on a VW style head casting, so its hard to source a spring that can take it. I'm also going with a different brand lash cap from a company that caters to NASCAR, and go with a thicker cap to help handle the high stress I'm putting on them with all that lift and RPMs. I can take some length off the valve tips to account for the thicker LCs so my geometry isn't changed. Oh, and I'm going to need some better PRs too, one of them had a loose tip. Oh well, lol

The lash caps were from Supertech here in CA, hard to say where they are made...

Sorry to hear about your header, can you weld it up and run it for a while more?

Looks like it can be patched up, maybe its time to buy a vintage speed exhaust for a bay, I'm pretty sure it will fit.

I haven't been looking specifically at springs for any given application, I've been looking by diameter, rate, installed height, seat pressure, and coil bind. There's lots of things that you have to take into account on a custom application like this. ;)

I realize your stuff is custom..... That's why I pointed you towards the LSx crowd. That aftermarket has exploded over the past few years. Just trying to help. Happy hunting.....

I appreciate the suggestion Scotty, sorry if it didn't seem like it. Basically what I'm doing is going through spring manufacturers and distributors catalogs , like PEP, PSI, Crowler, CV, Ferrea, etc and starting with diameter, then installed height, then seat pressure, then coil bind, then open pressure, more or less in that order. So I'm looking at every application already, including but not just Chevy ;)
