This head on thesamba http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewto ... 0231167070

Says the port facing the rear of the vacuum canister should have vacuum at idle and the forward facing port needs ported vacuum. See if that helps anything. On the hose that's on it now at idle it should have vacuum if it doesn't use that for the front and find another port that should be lower on the carb base will go to the rear facing port on the distributor.

So, the distributor I had was for a fuel injected engine. I think it was causing a few issues to I threw in a 009. (cue the cussing from Nick). I stabbed the distributor, but didn't get a chance to get the car timed and running.

I'd like to have a little work day on my car. I need to get the car timed and running right. I also need to switch out the shift bushing up by the shifter. This Friday night is open for me, if anyone wants to come over. Or we can do it some other time. Anyone like to help?

Thanks to Marko for the hand. Got the car running well, still need to time it with a light, but it runs pretty damn smooth. I bought the shift rod bushing (near the shifter) and a new coupling, I just need to find time to replace them.

Thanks again Mark.
