I for one heart making DIY articles, but the ones I would make would be stuff that would be way over most's heads. Stuff like converting GSXR TB's to ACVW applications, swapping in K20 motors, Porsche Brembo 4 pot brake upgrades, Porsche 901 5 speed installs, megasquirt Bluetooth enabled tablet dashboard, homemade lager cup brace...awesome stuff like that. That does sound like fun to make DIY articles for some of my upcoming projects.
The trick to a great DIY article is the way things are explained. I have tons of experience with hydraulics and electrical systems the way I have always explained it to people is in terms a five year old can understand. If you want to really teach someone never try and speak over their head. It does two things. Makes the person trying to learn feel inadequate and makes the person explaining it a complete idiot and a waste of time for both parties involved.
When I was playing with imports I made lots of DIY's and I dumbed them way the heck down, honduh kids aren't known for their mechanical proficiency. I use lots of pictures and explain every step I do, they were quite popular. For our site, I'll keep them kind of short on the explanations and long on the photos since I have a feeling the only peeps who will actually attempt any of them will be the more advanced among us, except for the Lager Cup Brace (

Tommie, that name is going to stick

), I will be more detailed on it. It's looking looking to be a sweet 5 bar brace for about $200 in materials and some welding.
